月光石龍和太陽石龍一起被發布於2011年7月18日，發布標題稱為「沙漠金沙」。和對等的太陽石龍兩者都是首一批的，在發布時便具有明確的棲地。

月光石龍與太陽石龍在蛋的描述與命名由來都有著相同的形式。牠們是常見的龍種，目前沒有品種限定的作用。

   成年龍
Moonstone dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. They are nocturnal and gather energy through the absorption of moonlight with their orbs. They seem to glow in with a lunar light and are a very gentle breed, feeding off of plants and the moon's power.
月光石龍以牠們尾巴上那看起來像是相同名稱的寶石的球形物體來命名，牠們是夜行性，並使用牠們的球形物體通過吸收月光來獲取能量。牠們被月光照射時看起來會顯得光彩奪目，且是非常溫馴的品種，以植物為食和月亮的力量過活。
