毀滅化身登場於2014年在龍洞網站的八歲生日。牠們是由自然守護者與其他龍種配種後產生的三種化身之一，另外兩種是變幻化身與創造化身。在龍洞軸頁上，若排序方式是按照品種（Breed），則牠們是排在自然守護者之下與其他化身之間（實際上，牠們都是根據名稱來排序的）。

毀滅化身就像其他化身一樣能繁殖出自己的後代，能產出同種或其伴侶的龍種，以及其他種類的化身。

Avatars of Destruction possess a volatile disposition. They thrive on chaos and decay, and their horns and plated scales are as hard as forged metal. Because of their affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature, it was once thought that these dragons were omens of ill fortune.

毀滅化身具有不穩定的性格。牠們以混沌和腐敗為養料而茁壯，牠們的角和裝甲般的鱗片就跟鍛造的金屬一樣堅硬。由於牠們跟黑暗與大自然的破壞力密切相關，曾被一度認為這些龍是厄運的預兆。
